In my library...
My February picks are for those who need a little help finding the good in good- bye's.
I wish moving on from things was easy. But it was so incredibly hard for me that I had to get some books to help me through it. These two right here are ones I will recommend over and over again not just for the great wisdom they offered, but for the practical tools and stories they gave. I often talk to people who are in transition and facing some tough decisions in life. They know that they need to let some things go, and move forward but they just can't seem to do it. It is really hard to let go when you have invested so much into something (or someone) you love. And that was the hardest part for me... realizing that I could let go easily of things I didn't like, but to move on from something I love? That felt impossible.

First up: The Dip by Seth Godin. This book explains that quitting is not the same as failing. In fact, quitting is strategic and "winners quit fast, quit often and quit without guilt." This tiny book was recommended to me by my uncle (who is a pastor for over 25 years) during one of our conversations, when I was going through a dip in my life.It helps you identify if you need to quit or stick it out. And this small lunchtime read is a must have.

Next up: Necessary Endings by Dr. Henry Cloud. This one is easily in my top 10 in leadership reads and I actually read this one every year. Incredibly insightful, this book teaches the reader how to normalize endings and to see them as necessary and strategic for personal growth. What I like about this one is it covers not just business decisions but relational ones as well. 10/10.
